This Week in Spring (SpringOne 2020 Edition) - September 1st, 2020
Hi, Spring fans! Welcome to another action-packed installment of This Week in Spring. Normally, I spend my time in these blogs looking at the week that was but I confess, as much as I love all the interesting stuff that’s come out in the last week, my heart’s just not in it! My mind instead is SpringOne 2020, which starts Wednesday, tomorrow, at 6 AM PST. There’s going to be so much good stuff, my friends. Obviously, there’s no better place to tackle the goings-on of the Spring community. But this show doesn’t stop there! There’s also going to be content around diversity and social justice. There will be content on operations, Cloud Foundry, and Kubernetes. There’s content directed at CTOs and technology leaders. There’s something for everybody. I. Can’t. Wait!
I wish, of course, that it was virtual, and that we could all interact in real life, but the SpringOne team has done a lot to compensate. First, VMware (the primary company that sponsors the Spring team and SpringOne) is giving out $25 Uber Eats credits, so no need to suffer through conference buffet lines! Second, the conference itself is free and virtual, so you can watch it in your pajamas and nobody will think anything of it. Third, there’s going to be opportunities for you to talk to the speakers after their respective talks, albeit virtually, replacing the “hallway” track at a non-virtual conference. And if all that weren’t enough, there’s a ton of cool stuff in the social track, too. There’s a cooking class, an art class, a pet-parade, and more.
It’s been a busy week since we last spoke! We’ve got a ton of stuff to cover so let’s get to it.
